Position Summary
The Senior QA Engineer/Test Analyst is responsible for testing and addressing software and process quality issues for Agentrics’ web-based applications. The Senior QA Engineer/Test Analyst will review and analyse requirements and design documents and develop test scripts based on these documents, and also perform testing to include functional, regression, and acceptance testing in both automated and manual scenarios. Additionally they will find and log faults into the faults database
 
Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of software, tested to specification and handed over to Commercial Team for release;
  • Develop test scripts;
  • Perform testing (manual and automated) on web-based applications;
  • Input and track defects in our defect tracking system, identifying issues for resolution at source (i.e.not just identification), whilst reporting and maintaining bugs/errors and non-compliances to spec in the faults database;
  • Recommend when products are acceptable for release, via QA Team Leader, and through close liaison with Developers and Product Support Team;
  • Validate supporting documents with software e.g. Help/installation
  • Work closely with internal development group to track development and testing cycles, including Beta site co-ordination;
  • Input into designs;
  • Perform presentations on design to customers and customer representatives;
  • Maintain documented systems for evidence of compliance;
  • Deputise for the QA Team Leader as required, and accept delegated tasks from the QA Team Leader as required;
  • Participating, and sometimes deputising, in development team review meetings, including discussion of requirements and user requirements documentation and related processes to ensure ongoing and long term product quality.
 
Skills and Expertise:
Essential:
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise and work effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders;
  • Solid experience of Web-based Application Testing using Internet Explorer;
  • Practical working experience developing test scripts from documented requirements;
  • A demonstrated background working in a team-based environment, showing constructive and consistent input into the team strategy and operations;
  • Experience of cross-browser and accessibility testing, and of testing ASP.Net applications;
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a close-knit team to achieve a variety of given tasks;
  • Practical working experience in an Agile Development and Scrum environment, including a proven ability to enhance a Testing strategy to work within this Methodology;
  • A strong desire to continuously improve quality in the QA process, such as utilizing automated test tools;
  • Experience of Test Automation software, and of testing against Design without documented Test Scripts;
  • English is required. Fluency in any of the following languages is a bonus, but not essential: French, German, Japanese,Chinese, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese.
Desirable:
  • Written and verbal communication in any of the following: Koren, French, Spanish
  • Experience of Team Foundation Server;
  • Experience of Visual Studio and C#;
  • Experience of using Telerik WebUI Test Studio; 
Education:
Essential:
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree or higher.
Desirable:
  • ISEB Foundation Course in Software Testing or similar/higher relevant certification.
