Position Summary
 
Agentrics is seeking to recruit a self motivated IT Support Engineer with at least three years of experience supporting all aspects of corporate IT infrastructure. This position is located in St. Albans, UK, and is part of the US based IT team that provides support for four offices and remote workforce.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and fixing Windows 2003/2008 servers, Windows clients, and peripheral equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring system availability and performance, maintaining backups, and ensuring anti-virus and system patches are applied.
 
The candidate will maintain security accounts in Active Directory and other enterprise applications, maintain proper security permissions, manage Exchange Server mailboxes, Outlook clients and Blackberry devices.
 
The candidate will support both office and remote end-users with Windows OS, Office 2003/2007 application issues, VPN connectivity, and hardware repairs.
 
He/She will work with the US team to document and follow standard procedures, track and resolve issues, keep up-to-date hardware inventory and track software licenses.
 
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for setting up and administering phones, voicemail, teleconference, and video conferencing equipment, as well as escalating issues related to Internet connectivity, LAN, Wireless, and inter-office-site links to the Network team.

Skills and Expertise:
Essential:
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Windows Client OS, and Office 2003/2007
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
  • Ability to communicate in a cross-cultural environment with multiple personalities
  • Good fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Advanced knowledge of Vmware ESX and/or Hyper-V virtualization platform
  • Ability to perform basic administration on Avaya PBX’s
  • Ability to multi-task, self starter, eager to learn
 
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft licensing options
  • Familiarity with Blackberry Enterprise server.
 
Education and Experience:
Essential:
  • Experience with Dell hardware (servers, laptops, and desktops)
  • Experience backing up/restoring windows systems, BackupExec
  • Experience with systems monitoring and alerting
  • Experience with Ghost system imaging
  • Experience working with projectors, video and audio conferencing equipment
 
Desirable:
  • Microsoft or other industry certification a plus
  • Experience working in a software development environment a plus
