Position Summary

A growing business and internal reorganising means that we need to recruit a Financial Controller to join our global accounting & finance team, reporting to the Global Controller located in the USA. The position is supported abroad with the assistance of 3rd Party vendors, and centralized accounting functions in the US and Brazil. The UK position would execute global accounting policy and procedures under the direction of the consolidated accounting group.

 

Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for coordinating and executing day-to-day accounting, performing the monthly close cycle for one or two companies, and participating in various ad hoc projects and requests.  Most of the activity centres around UK accounting, with small remote operations in various European countries managed from the Global accounting team.  Specific duties will include the following:

·         Day-to-Day entry and self-management of financial and management accounts for all European activity, including invoicing, Credit Control, Expense payment, monthly Accruals, prepayments and Inter-company reconciliation, Bank Payments and Reconciliation

·         Perform Month-end and Year-end Procedures

·         Audit file preparation and liaise with external auditors.

·         Invoicing, payroll and treasury functions will be globally mananaged.

Skills and Expertise:

Essential:

·         Proven technical accounting skills relating to performing and monitoring A/P, A/R, Invoicing, Cash Receipts, Fixed Assets, Disbursements, etc.

·         Ability to train and manage virtual team members from a remote location.

·         Strong working knowledge of Excel with competent IT skills, in particular in Word and Outlook

·         Excellent numeric skills

·         Good attention to detail, ensuring reliable and accurate data

·         Adaptable and with a desire to maximise ones own resources

·         Ability to reconcile and produce P&L, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows (or IFRS Equivalent)

·         Quick agile mind suited to a fast moving business environment

·         Good communication skills with ability to deal at all levels of seniority

·         Ability to follow procedures yet or aid in the development of new processes and policies if needed

·         Trustworthy and reliable with ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

·         Ability to multi task and work with many team members internationally

·         High level of spoken and written English

·         Ability to work with a  as well as part of a team

 

Desirable:

·         Understanding of UK GAAP, and IFRS and reciprocal standards in other European countries

·         Experience working in a global or IT business

·         Being a global operation, foreign languages is always useful, although our main business language is English.

 

Education and Experience:

Essential:

·         At least 4 years experience within a finance environment, with a working understanding of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.

·         Qualified (ACA,ACCA, CIMA)

 

Desirable:

·         Graduate calibre (ideally a degree in finance and/or accounting)
