Sourcing Consultant
Position Location: Alexandria, VA or Chicago, IL

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing professional services organization developing and implementing our sourcing suite of products and services.

Responsibilities Summary:

As a member of the Sourcing Professional Services team, you will support the consulting team efforts strategic sourcing goals. The candidate will be responsible for supporting retailer requests (both on application usage and sourcing process best practices). Candidate will provide ongoing support for their e-Sourcing programs and must master all facets of the Agentrics eSourcing technologies. The consultant will be responsible for creating buyer training materials and be willing/able to train buyers onsite in a classroom environment. In this role you will also facilitate a community-wide forum for sharing key best practices in the industry among Agentrics clients. Demonstrated client relationship management skills, proven project management ability, and a desire to learn are essential.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Candidate must master the following eSourcing technologies: ezMarket, Emptoris, MyGenSource, OverDrive, Flexible Awarding and Reporting.
  • Strong presentation skills and business writing skills are required
  • Ability to deliver on site presentations and application training without assistance after 6 months in position
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to devise creative business solutions (including business process improvements and technology related solutions)
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business problems
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, Project, Power Point. Proficiency in Microsoft Access a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree from 4 year college required.
  • Experience with e-Sourcing applications (e.g. Emptoris) required
  • Sourcing experience with direct/indirect spend, developing negotiation strategies and executing on the re-negotiation of contracts
  • Detailed understanding of strategic sourcing practices including supplier on-boarding, category sourcing, global sourcing, cost optimization, RFx event management, etc. Experience sourcing indirect products/services preferred. Experience dealing with purchasing consortiums a plus.
