Position Summary

We wish to recruit a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as the Product Consultant for all our Microsoft technology based products, including Agentrics GenNovation. GenNovation is a B2B portal for the collaborative development of new private label food products for retailers. Customers include Marks and Spencer who use GenNovation for all their product development and management.

This role is key to the successful implementation of GenNovation software to our retail and manufacturing clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of the client's business requirements, presenting the GenNovation solutions, identifying where there are gaps or modifications are needed to the existing GenNovation software and proposing the ideal adoption approach for the client's use. Communication with the client, and the creation of requirement and design documentation to the customer's required specification for implementation by the GenNovation development team. As such the Product Consultant must be capable of both an outward and inward looking focus to balance the requirements with the delivery process. The successful candidate should be comfortable in a technical and commercial environment and ideally have food manufacturing and/or retail experience. The role is part of the Business Development Group and reports to the Business Development Director.

Responsibilities:

Duties of the Product Consultant include:

  • The Product consultant is expected to be an expert on the GenNovation solutions and be able to present the solution both internally and externally.
  • The analysis and documentation of customer requirements and presentation of the GenNovation solutions based on the analysis of these requirements.
  • Working at a client location during implementation and adoption phases, matching GenNovation functionality to customer needs, identifying gaps in functionality and proposing appropriate solutions that meet customer requirements and the long term strategy of the GenNovation solution.
  • Ensuring successful implementation and adoption of GenNovation for a client.
  • The analysis of GenNovation solutions and provide recommendations to enhance and develop the use of the solutions
  • Capture and analysis of requirements and production of functional designs for development work, including customer specific enhancements and new customer adoption.
  • Participation in design review meetings, documentation and related processes to ensure ongoing and long term product quality
  • Work with the commercial team and customers to determine and document the functionality required for new and existing software applications
  • Working closely with software development teams to ensure delivery of software that meets the Agentrics and customer requirements
  • Training of internal colleagues and client users in GenNovation solutions.
  • Help to set the agenda for the company high level vision and goals.
  • Serve as the link between Customers and the Agentrics Development teams

 

Skills and Expertise:

The following are essential:

  • Background in UK or international retail / manufacturing businesses
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of working in a food manufacturing / retail environment using food IT systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and oral, that can be applied in a complex environment, both internal and external
  • High level of verbal analytical ability, sufficient to understand complex requirements, identify problems, seek relevant data, recognise impartial information and the ability to diagnose the possible causes of the problem
  • Excellent PC skills in all office software
  • Milestone-oriented, detail-oriented, flexible, and team-oriented
  • Must be "hands-on"
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work within a dynamic environment. Quick starter and fast learner
  • Ability to modify style and approach in order to achieve a specific objective.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, being able to engage, motivate and involve a wide range of individuals on project activities.
  • Ability to deal with all management levels of a business

The following are desirable:

  • Multi-lingual skills (French, German or Spanish preferred)
  • Software development within a commercial environment, preferably a software house
  • Degree educated (Food Technology preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of food safety, HACCP, legislation, GMP and the product development process

 

Travel Requirements:

The ability to work flexible hours and make occasional long-distance and international travel will be needed for this role.
