DISCOVERY SERVICES MANAGER
Position Location: Chicago, IL

Description of Duties

The Agentrics Discovery Services (DS) provide customers with new suppliers or partners to invite to their negotiations process. This position is responsible for managing the Discovery Services team, developing the revenue for these services, proposing new related revenue opportunities if pertinent, and ensuring quality delivery to customers.

This experienced individual will manage all high level relationships with the existing or new customers; will be the interface with the Sourcing Consultants, Business Development Managers, marketing, finance or legal teams in regards to any Discovery Services aspects; work closely with the CSS shift managers to optimize coordination tasks between the two teams.

The position reports to the Director of CSS and Content Services. The DS team counts currently two FTE and is planned to expand in 2009.

Main responsibilities and goals:

  • Management of the staff: hiring, evaluating, training, split of responsibilities, optimization of processes….
  • Quality and speed of delivery: propose new ideas to shorten the turnaround time of each delivery and to improve consistency of results provided
  • Reporting and SLOs: improve current reporting, create SLOs and other relevant indicators
  • Market analysis: benchmark the offers with a market analysis and propose alternative positioning if needed
  • Supplier databases: analyze current databases used and find alternative sources
  • Supplier Registry: lead the new offer, develop revenue
  • Discovery Services as a standalone offer: lead the development of new revenue with non sourcing customers

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years experience in a retail, international manufacturing environment or purchasing environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Demonstrated Project Management and team management skills
  • BA degree in business or similar fields
  • Familiarity with or proficiency in a language other than English

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated web-based database searches facilities and interest
  • Familiar with international trade rules
