Sr. Sourcing Consultant
Position Location: Alexandria, VA or Chicago, IL

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing professional services organization developing and implementing our sourcing suite of products and services.

Responsibilities Summary:

As a member of the Sourcing Professional Services team, the consulting project lead will be responsible for three major areas: 1) Lead and deliver strategic sourcing engagements for various spend categories (mainly in the retail sector). Engagement delivery scope and project duration will vary. 2) Provide ongoing solution strategies and training to e-Sourcing clients using Agentrics eSourcing solutions and 3) Partner with the Business Development Manager in pre/post sales activities for Agentrics sourcing solutions and services. Prior consulting experience, proven project management ability, demonstrated client relationship management skills, and a desire to learn and travel are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • The consultant will become an expert on Agentrics sourcing methodologies and eSourcing product suites and share this knowledge base to new / existing Agentrics eSourcing clients. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating strategies to improve the Agentrics Sourcing methodology and engagement delivery models.
  • Ensure the client goals are met for each strategic sourcing engagement (e.g. Savings goal, supplier consolidation, etc.)
  • The consultant will also be responsible for working with the Agentrics product management team to document the functionality required for new and existing sourcing applications
  • Partner in supporting the facilitation of a community-wide forum for sharing key best practices in the industry

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Candidate must possess a detailed understanding of strategic sourcing practices and methodologies. Experience leading strategic sourcing engagements including: spend analysis, supplier identification, RFx event management, reverse auction event management and cost optimization. Experience leading and developing category specific sourcing strategies (from spend to contract) required.
  • Experience utilizing e-Sourcing applications in strategic sourcing engagements is required (e.g. Emptoris / Ariba / SAP/ Oracle)
  • Ability to transfer strategic sourcing methodologies across sectors / industries
  • Ability to devise creative business solutions (including business process improvements and technology related solutions) for customer
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business problems
  • BA/BS degree from 4 year college required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • 50-75% Travel is required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the retail sector is preferred (e.g. strategic sourcing role for a global retailer)
  • Experience with e-Sourcing applications (e.g. Emptoris) required
  • Category experience in indirect / MRO is also preferred (e.g. Facilities / Construction)
  • Multi Lingual a plus (French, German or Spanish)
