Software Engineer

Position Summary:

Opportunity to apply your Developer and Designer skills for Internet Applications with Agentrics, the leading global Sourcing, Product Introduction and Supply Chain solution provider connecting retailers, manufacturers and their trading partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design Internet application programming of Oracle and J2EE based applications and services
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, taking ownership and responsibility for managing projects and tasks.
  • Provides technical ownership in primary areas of competence, and task management and project leadership support.
  • Be available for level 3 production support and resolve the issue in a timely fashion. Use the knowledge gained from production issues to avoid similar issues in the future.
  • Develops experience and expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis and the general design of systems
  • Be knowledgeable and flexible enough to be incorporated into any product line and start contributing with very minimal turn-around time
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task by managing and communicating priorities to all appropriate audiences.
  • Be flexible and a team player.
  • Mentor the development efforts and progress of junior developers, enabling them to understand the requirements better and adapt best software practices

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software development cycle and software development skills including knowledge of database design, SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of Unix shell and Perl programming
  • Knowledge of large scale Data Warehouse design and data loading process
  • Experience developing web-based application solutions using J2EE technology, including JSP, Servlet, Portlet, JDBC.
  • Knowledge of object orientation, concurrent and multithreading programming, and software framework experience.
  • Worked with at least one major application server
  • Creating multi-tier application architectures using the J2EE MVC approach.
  • Participating in requirement gathering, designing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Strong customer service orientation and strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • 4+ years working experience in as programmer or developer
  • CS degree or equivalent with 3.0+ GPA from top school.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience on SQL, PL/SQL, ER design
  • Knowledge on Open sources
  • Experience on J2EE, Struts, SQL
  • Knowledge on Hibernate, Spring Framework or other AOP Framework.
  • Experience in some of the following tools related to software development:
    -Toad
    -Eclipse
    -EDI mapping tool such as STC
    -Portal solutions
